Welcome to West Linton in the Scottish Borders

West Linton from the air

Situated 17 miles southwest of Scotland's capital Edinburgh, is the Scottish Borders village of West Linton, Peeblesshire. Settlements in the area date back to the Iron Age.

This community website gives you access to a short history of the village, information from the Community Council, West Linton Primary School, and local groups like the Bowling Club, Horticultural Society, LyneUp (the drama club) and the Music Society.

The popular discussion forum is still here, plus a directory of local businesses, bus timetables, walking and cycling routes, links and a new calendar facility for what's on.

Contact the site admin if you want to add an event or get listed in the directory (free).

There's also background to Whipman Week, our part of the tradition of the Borders' Common Ridings, the annual village rideout and festival held in the first week in June.
