LyneUp has two major new productions planned for your entertainment.
In September we'll be staging 'Murdered to Death' by Peter Gordon, an affectionate send-up of the Agatha Christie whodunnits, complete with Colonel, butler and dodgy French art dealer, to name but a few. Inspector Pratt, an English Clouseau, leads the hunt. It's been many years since West Linton has had a murder mystery, and 'Murdered to Death' ticks all the boxes.
At the beginning of March 2011 we're looking forward to 'Count Karlstein', the stage adaptation of a 'Gothick tale' by Philip Pullman (yes, THE Philip Pullman, who has kindly sanctioned the production). This promises to be a huge extravaganza, set in a small Transylvanian(-ish) village ... the evil Count Karlstein has bargained the lives of his two young wards Lucy and Charlotte with Zamiel the Demon Huntsman in return for the title. Their maid Hildi helps them escape, with the help of impresario Count Cadaverezzi and his assistant Max, and the girls' old teacher Miss Davenport and her maid Lizzie. Be prepared for a magic show, a blizzard or two, supernatural horrors and a shooting competition at the very least. We'll be looking for young actors for this one.
