Keith Cooper, did you by any chance have a younger sister named Phyllis. I recall a Phyllis Cooper who was in an old class photo of mine

I was involved with Linton Hotspur at the time of its demise around 1971. The end came as a result of the club being unable to raise a team on a regular basis to fulfill its league fixtures. Accordingly the club had no option but to resign from the league. For many years after that I held onto the c...

GT, the references to Deanfoot Road are almost certainly correct. The farmer at Kettleshill either owns or leases (or both) land at Deanfoot Road and has done so for a number of years

Incidently the Scotsman of Friday 26 January also carried a paragraph on the subject

Great photos Harvey I have some old photos which I took of the railway line about 20 years ago particularly in the area around Macbiehill Station. Admin, I note your reply. Unfortunately you've misunderstood. Laura was asking about a right of way at Bank House which is what I responded to. It's nowhere near Broomlee Camp. Bank House is next to the bank in Main Street (surprise surprise). C'mon Steve, pay attention.

Jnr Janks/Harvey, talking of skips and tyres was there not also an unfortunate incident a couple of years ago involving a box of matches and a wooden garage that Double O starred in.

Laura, I heard it said many years ago that there was a right of way through the garden of Bank House to the little narrow lane that separates the Village Nursery (the old church hall) from the cottage next door on the Lower Green. I was also told that the late Isabel Paterson used to walk this route...

I think the last owner of Dolphinton Creamery before it closed was a man called Giddy Pringle. His daughter is Nancy Porteous who still lives in West Linton
